Odesta breaks apart, products to continue: Mac, Vax lines to be picked up by separate new ventures. Odesta Corp., developer of the Helix database products and the Odesta Document Management System (ODMS), has ceased to exist, but its products are being picked up by two new companies. The division occurred along platform lines, with one group taking all of the Mac products, the other taking the Vax ones.

NorthCon takes Mac software. The rights to all Helix and Mac-based products were purchased by Albara Corporation, a holding company run by Real Provencher. Albara has created a new company, NorthCon Technologies, Inc. (NCTI), with Provencher serving as president.

Albara also owns Hardware That Fits, a mail-order hardware reseller.
