Oct. 3--Tang Hua Seng is repositioning its 10-year-old Thon Buri site as a department store for families to widen its customer base and compete with modern foreign retail chains.

Under the plan, the company is allocating about 30 million baht to renovate the store and adjust product mixes. The retail space for department store products such as cosmetics, leather goods and apparel will also be scaled down to only two floors or about 10,000 square metres, compared with 20,000 square metres currently.
