Theater Chain Opens Movie Complex in Hypermarket.

Oct. 2--Major Cineplex opened its 10th theatre yesterday at Tesco Lotus Bang Kapi in Bangkok, the country's first movie complex housed in a hypermarket.
Costing more than 250 million baht, the 10-screen theatre with 2,300 seats was part of Major Cineplex's strategy to expand the movie market into more major locations in Bangkok, said Vicha Poolvaraluck, president and chief executive officer of Major Cineplex Group Plc.
Major Cineplex Bang Kapi, decorated in a Venetian theme that boasts bright frescoes, floral drapes and red plush seats, is expected to sell at least 1.82 million tickets a year.
