Chip trade group sees slowdown

Global chip sales rose 9.5% to $53.45 bil from Q1, boosted by memory chips and sales of personal computers, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association. But growth should decelerate in Q3 to 4%-6% from the earlier quarter, according to inventory and production analysis. June sales climbed 2.8% to $17.8 bil from May and 40.3% from the year earlier.
