AIDS spreading in Kerala, Punjab. (India)

An alarmingly large number of AIDS cases has been detected in India's northwestern state of Punjab and the southern coastal state of Kerala. Of the 27 cases reported so far in Punjab, 25 of the patients have died, according to news reports from the state. So far only 103 cases of AIDS have been found in India. Experts estimate that this is only a fraction of the total number of those infected by AIDS in India.

In Kerala, 11 advanced cases have been detected in the state capital of Thiruvananthapuram, the Hindu newspaper reports. The Kerala health minister, R. Ramachandran Nair, told the legislative assembly that AIDS was spreading in the state …
