Oct. 11--Silicon Valley residents are continuing to lose confidence in the future of the economy -- both nationally and locally -- as they grapple with the worst tech recession in memory, a new survey shows.
More Silicon Valley residents think the local economy will be worse off a year from now than thought so three months ago, according to a poll by the Survey and Policy Research Institute scheduled for release today.
These results show that almost two out of 10 local residents polled in September said they think the local economy will be worse in a year -- compared to only one of 10 who believed that in June.
In comparison, four out of 10 now think the local economy will improve, down from almost half who thought that three months ago.
