Nov. 5--Operators of motorcycle taxis will be asked to pay more for compulsory insurance, although the amount has yet to be determined.
"Like car-hire services, motorcycle taxis should pay a higher premium [than other motorists] as their services are entwined with lives and assets," said Wattana Muangsuk, a deputy commerce minister.
Mr Wattana said he was committed to pursuing an increase in premiums regardless of the political repercussions.
