Nov. 2--The domestic economy is not facing deflation but disinflation, which is good for local investment, says Wisudhi Srisuphan, the new director-general of the Fiscal Policy Office.

Deflation means a fall in the general price level while disinflation means a period of slower inflation.

Economic indicators show that lower inflation is not caused by a decline in domestic demand but by falling prices of exports, which reflect falling local prices of products.
