Nov. 1--Despite the increasing popularity of discount stores, department stores are poised to make a strong comeback, as shoppers are becoming more sophisticated and seeking variety in the goods they buy.
"The future is again in favour of department stores," said Vittorio Radice, chief executive of UK-based Selfridges Department Stores and chairman of the Intercontinental Group of Department Stores (IGDS), who is in Bangkok to attend the 13th IGDS Asian Summit.
