Nov. 1--The Bank of Thailand yesterday raised growth forecasts for the year to 4 percent to 4.5 percent, from earlier projections of 3-4 percent.
Increases in export performance and domestic consumption had helped boost growth prospects, according to Bandid Nijathaworn, assistant central bank governor for the Monetary Policy Group.
Growth targets of 3 percent to 4 percent for 2003 remained unchanged. Core inflation, which excludes energy and raw food, was expected to be 0.5 percent to 1 percent this year and 1 percent to 2 percent next year.
