Nov. 1--The Austrian Airlines Group is betting on Thailand's healthy economy and political stability in expanding its niche airline business in the region despite the recent terrorist bombings.
Josef Burger, chief operating officer of the group, began a visit to Thailand on Wednesday, saying he wanted to thank Thai authorities for supporting a 40 percent capacity increase in daily flights starting on Dec 2.
The Austrian Airlines Group consists of Austrian Airlines, Lauda Air and Tyrolean.
