Two employees broke down briefly on the witness stand as they relived the moments of terror that shattered an average workday and left three people dead.

The second day of testimony Thursday in the triple-murder trial of Karl Knapp included testimony of guns and regret that brought tears from onlookers and an occasional smirk from Knapp.

The 49-year-old unemployed cook is accused of gunning down estranged girlfriend Jane Johnston, 42, her boss, Steve Goodwin, 49, and an employee from a neighboring business, Greg Maguire, 49, on Jan. 3, 2003.
