TEMPE, Ariz. _ The Arizona Cardinals played the Raiders on Sunday minus three of their top four wide receivers and starting running back Thomas Jones. They also played in their home stadium before a pro-Raiders crowd.

One had to figure the Cardinals needed plenty of fortuitous breaks and an off game by Oakland's top-ranked offense to win.

The Raiders did their best to accommodate the hapless Cardinals by committing a slew of head-scratching penalties, yet still managed a less-than-inspiring 41-20 victory at Sun Devil Stadium.

Not even a career-high 135 yards rushing by Marcel Shipp in his first NFL start, the first NFL touchdown by receiver Arnold Jackson and 13 penalties for 105 yards by the Raiders helped the Cardinals achieve anything more than avoiding an Arena …
