"Children from deprived areas were at increased risk (OR=4.94, 95% CI 3.14-7.78) compared to children from affluent areas and, were more likely to be admitted following immunization with pertussis vaccine (OR=5.91, 95% CI 2.69-12.29)," reported Babatunde Olowokure at Heartlands Hospital and collaborators at the University of Birmingham. "Further research is required to determine the contribution of healthcare providers and parents to this health differential."
