PHILADELPHIA _ The Miami Dolphins showed up for practice Tuesday and found a lobster trap hanging from the ceiling of the dressing room. It was an ominous reminder from coach Dave Wannstedt of what can happen when a team is feeling chesty.
The Dolphins have every right to feel confident. They just defeated Oakland _ the team to beat in the AFC, according to many _ and they are tied at 9-5 with the Raiders, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis and Tennessee for the best record in the conference.
Combine that with Monday night's loss to the Titans by AFC East rival New England, and a little swagger could be expected in South Florida.
That's why the lobster trap was there. The Dolphins have had a habit of late-season swoons in recent years, and Wannstedt wanted to remind his players of that.
