The rainbow array of computer and video games cramming the aisles of your local electronics or video game store can be dizzying, and choosing a good game can be difficult.

Are the game fanatics in your life into real-time strategy or first-person shooters? Do they prefer action-adventure games or role-playing titles? Would they rather play online against others or adventure alone in single-player virtual worlds?

Word-of-mouth, reviews and players' opinions posted in forums on the Web can help sort out the junk, but for those who don't want to invest that kind of time, I've come up with a short list of titles that meet the most basic requirement of a good game: They are light-hearted fun.
