Dec. 4--New vehicle sales in Hamilton County plunged in November as buying dropped under the 1,000 auto mark for the first month this year.
Car and truck sales totaled 991 units in November, 23.1 percent below the same month a year ago, according to figures from the Hamilton County Clerk's Office.
Auto dealers said strong incentives begun last fall in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terror attacks had buoyed November 2001's sales figures.
"Last year in November, the month was a good one because of the zero percent incentives," said Don Thomas, general manager of Mountain View Nissan.
