Dec. 3--Kodak (Thailand) Co is moving to tap emerging business in info-imaging, a combination of image science and information technology, to augment its traditional imaging services.
The strategy is a response to rapid technological change and consumer demand for the information-rich content that images contain.
The company was finding new opportunities in info-imaging, incorporating digital imaging into consumers' everyday lives, said M.L. Anavaj Srithavaj, marketing operations manager, Consumer Imaging at Kodak (Thailand) Co.
After launching the new online service, Kodak will broaden its service with the introduction of Picture Maker kiosks.
About 20 of the kiosks will be installed in shopping centres in Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai and Pattaya next year, allowing consumers to make photos without film or transfer pictures in negative form onto CDs.
The company will charge 250 baht for CD transfers which include a 40-megabyte memory, with a limit of 40 pictures per time, and a 15-baht charge for printing a 4x7-inch colour picture.
