Dec. 2--A market for automobile and electronic parts, hosted by the Board of Investment (BoI), has generated deals worth up 700 million baht since the event started in March this year.

Organised on the last Friday of every month, the market is used by automobile and electronic assemblers seeking locally-made parts and components.

At the market, assemblers exhibit their product samples and discuss details with suppliers. Information exchanges regarding parts specifications, quality, volume, price, procurement policy and manufacturing capabilities proceed.

This information is the base for suppliers to decide on whether they can produce the required parts to supply the assemblers.

The market has been held seven times and has generated deals worth about 700 million baht, said a senior BoI official.

Seminars are also held on topics such as modern management, human resource development, technology capability, project financing, cost-cutting, raw material procurement, e-markets and many others to help small businesses expand their knowledge of running modern enterprises.
