Jul. 29--In the hyper-competitive snack industry, the company behind a Mexican treat called Gansito hopes to win more American stomachs by taking its advertising to the next level.
Mexico's largest bakery-products company, Grupo Bimbo SA, said Gansito got a substantial sales boost last year when it packaged a free custom video game with the product, a chocolate-covered snack cake with a crme and jelly belly. Now its Fort Worth-based U.S. unit is coming out this week with an "improved" version of the game in 10-cube family packs.
