Dec. 17--Liz Vogt may not be getting the shot, but she feels the needle when her daughter gets a scheduled vaccination in the leg. It's not unusual for the 20-month-old girl, Jenna, to need four or more injections during a visit to the pediatrician.
But starting as early as next month, babies will be able to get fewer shots. The Food and Drug Administration on Monday approved a new vaccine that combines protection against five different diseases into one injection.
"Anything that reduces the number of shots is great," said Vogt of Winter Park, who also has a 9-year-old daughter and a baby on the way. "It just breaks your heart.…
