Dec. 15--WEIDMAN NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AT WACHOVIA: Steven M. Weidman has been named senior vice president of Wachovia Corp., 600 Penn St.

In his new position, Weidman will serve as credit manager for Wachovia Wealth Management's central Pennsylvania region. Wachovia Wealth Management is the former Private Capital Management Group of First Union, formed through the merger of First Union and Wachovia Corp.

He is responsible for managing a team of nine people who underwrite and service commercial and consumer loans to wealth management clients in central and northeastern Pennsylvania.

A resident of Wyomissing, Weidman was vice president of the former CoreStates Financial Corp. He has more than 24 years of experience in the financial services industry and began his career with Philadelphia National Bank, now Wachovia.
