Jun. 27--Polymer Group Inc., which posted a small loss in its first month out of bankruptcy protection, is trimming about 30 jobs at a North Carolina textile plant as it presses ahead with streamlining its U.S. operations.

The North Charleston-based specialty fabrics maker notified workers at its Benson, N.C., facility earlier this week that it is cutting both management and production jobs over the next several weeks. The layoffs represent 15 percent of the labor force at the 469,000-square-foot plant, said spokesman Dennis Norman.
