Jul. 8--EU STEEL DUMPING PENALTIES EXTENDED: The European Commission has extended anti-dumping charges on certain steel products from Thailand for another five years.
The EC said an interim review found that steel tubes and pipe fittings imported from Thailand continued to damage the EU steel industry.
The EC will impose a 58.9 percent anti-dumping (AD) duty on the products, backdated from 2001 to 2005, except for three companies, Thai Benkan Co, TTU Industrial Crop and Awaji Sangyu Co. The first company had been found not to have engaged in any dumping practices while the other two had agreed on quantitative undertakings with the EC.
The products originally had been subjected to AD charges for five years from 1996 to 2000.
THREE DOMINATE TACT ENTRY LIST: The three top contenders in the 27th Top Advertising Contest of Thailand (Tact) Awards are SC Matchbox with 151, BBDO Bangkok with 130, and Creative Juice/G1 with 119.
Entries this year, totalling 1,473 from 64 ad agencies, are up from 1,321 last year, said Apiradee Metharom, chairman of the Tact organising committee.
The entries include 377 television commercials, 37 TV campaigns, 495 print ads, 74 print ad campaigns, 154 posters, 39 outdoor ads, 46 direct ads, 192 radio spots, 51 jingles and eight TV instrumental scores. The ...
