Jul. 30--With a decision on who will own the Currituck Beach Lighthouse expected as soon as today, Currituck County has raised last-minute questions about how its competitor for control of the beacon will meet zoning laws.
In letters Friday and Monday to the federal official making the decision on ownership, the county asked that the Board of Commissioners and Outer Banks Conservationists Inc. discuss the zoning issues with him before his announcement is made.
As of Tuesday, the county had received no response from Assistant Secretary of the Interior Craig Manson.
