Aug. 6--A wide range of women battle depression after giving birth. Only a tiny segment suffer something far worse -- postpartum psychosis.

Women with this rare, little-understood psychiatric disorder have delusions, hallucinations and lose touch with reality, sometimes with heartbreaking consequences.

Andrea Yates, the Texas woman sentenced to life in prison for methodically drowning each of her five children, had a history of pyschosis.

And mental health experts cannot help but wonder if a psychotic episode drove Mine An Ener to do what she did. Police in St. Paul, Minn., say the 38-year-old Villanova University…
