Aug. 13--The Columbia owner of the portable climbing wall involved in the fatal fall of a Jefferson City woman in July was charged today with first-degree involuntary manslaughter.
Marcus Frank Floyd, 30, faces up to seven years in prison and a $5,000 fine if he is convicted of the Class C felony. Boone County Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Crane filed the charge this morning, and a University Police officer was subsequently sent to pick up Floyd and take him to the Boone County Jail. His bond was set at $50,000. As of press time, Floyd had not been booked into the jail.
