Aug. 22--A state technology industry leader called for strengthening of Washington State University Vancouver, if the region hopes to build a knowledge-based economy.

"If there is any advice I would have ... if there is anything you can do to build your economy, it is grow and strengthen WSU Vancouver because it is really going to be your future," said Susannah Malarkey, executive director of the Technology Alliance, a Seattle-based consortium of business and community leaders.
