Oct. 15--On the environment, Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger is quintessentially Californian.
He doesn't just drive an SUV. He drives a Hummer, the biggest and baddest SUV.
But like most Californians, the governor-elect says he is very concerned about air pollution. And as a Los Angeles-based evangelist of physical fitness for children, he has reason to worry.
"He lives in Los Angeles where he can look out over the smog. He really worries about this in terms of his kids," said Terry Tamminen, one of Schwarzenegger's top environmental advisors.
"The air is the most important thing to him," Tamminen added. "He sees kids with asthma."
