Oct. 25--Buckhead's Restaurant opened last night under new ownership.

Former owner Rusty Kirven said he is glad the popular New York-style chophouse on Patterson Avenue is able to get a second chance.

"I am going to miss it," said Kirven, who owned the restaurant from 1994 until it was shut down Sept. 2 by his landlord.

Yoshi Tanaka, who owns Kabuto Japanese House of Steaks off West Broad Street, now owns Buckhead's.

Tanaka has kept the Buckhead's name, concept and most of its employees. He leases the space in the Beverly Hills shopping center. And he bought the restaurant's extensive wine inventory. …
