Two Ports Chosen to Spur Regional Oil-Trading Drive in Thailand.

Sep. 5--The government has earmarked the ports of Ko Si Chang and Laem Chabang in Chon Buri to be developed as export-processing zones for the oil business as a starting point for Thailand's ambition to become the new regional oil trading market.
Energy Minister Prommin Lertsuridej said the final decision would be made next week on what development might be needed at the two sites.
Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra recently declared an ambition to make Thailand an oil trading hub in Asia.
Mr Prommin said oil export taxes would have to be restructured before traders in Asia could be lured to shift transactions ...
