Sep. 4--Bangkok Expressway Plc (BECL) has said debt restructuring will reduce its debt burden by 2.7 billion baht and that it will seek new loans worth six billion baht in a bid to offset the lack of revenue from increased toll fees.

Managing director Suvich Pungchareon said yesterday that BECL's creditor banks had agreed to cut its interest rate and waived other conditions that would save the firm 405 million baht in the first year and 2.7 billion baht until 2012 when the loans mature.

The company's total outstanding debts are about 40 billion baht.
