Sep. 4--Royal Garden Resorts Plc (RGR), Thailand's largest hotel group, is optimistic about the business prospects and plans to expand its Thai operations

RGR chairman Bill Heinecke said the company was looking to open more hotels in major tourist destinations like Phuket, Ko Samui and Krabi.

He believes that Thailand's tourism industry will continue to be dynamic despite the hiccup from the war in Iraq and the outbreak of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (Sars) earlier this year.

Specifically, RGR is considering opening two more hotels in Phuket and one in Krabi.
