Sep. 4--With top Thai products ranging from wine to silk vying for the attention of VIP delegates at October's Apec summit in the capital, health-care providers are preparing to showcase their high-quality offerings as well.

The Private Hospital Association of Thailand has teamed up with the Public Health Ministry to provide on-site medical teams at the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation forum (Apec) meeting venues.

Bumrungrad Hospital, which treats 280,000 foreign patients a year, has proposed offering free special medical services to the 9,000 Apec delegates and media participants expected in Bangkok from Oct 14-22.
