Sep. 3--Law firms representing Japanese creditors of Siam Strip Mill (SSM) plan to appeal again to the Supreme Court by the end of this month in an attempt to overturn a contentious bankruptcy court ruling.

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (Nexi), an export credit agency and insurer of Japanese creditors, recently appointed the Bangkok-based law firm Chandler & Thong-Ek Offices to collaborate with Baker & McKenzie on a new appeal.

The Central Bankruptcy Court in June approved SSM's 61.5-billion-baht restructuring, drawing complaints from the Japanese creditors: Sumitomo Corp, Itochu Corp and Citibank's Tokyo ...
