Sep. 2--Several share schemes have been used as a tool to reward employees in an organisation and to build up the sense of ownership among them. Needless to say, they are regarded as an additional consideration for the hard work and effort the employees have put into their companies.

It is worth noting that although the employees receive the rights or ownership in shares granted under a share scheme, they do not have any cash in hand until the moment that they actually sell those shares in the market. The most common question is whether the employees are required to pay personal income tax and, if so, when and how.
