Most practitioners and academics would agree that supply chain management (SCM) is key to gaining a competitive edge. However, ask for one clear, unanimous definition of SCM and even the most well-informed practitioner or academic will be left scratching his head.
Supply chain management is such a broad term that it can be easily misunderstood. With so many varying opinions, it's no wonder a comprehensive explanation is hard to come by. Until now.
