Oct. 2--State-owned China Worldbest Group is investing US$20 million (about 840 million baht) in Thailand to double production capacity of cotton yarn and aims to also set up a factory to serve the pharmaceutical industry.

The latest investment is in addition to the total of $130 million that the conglomerate has spent here to develop four factories at its Rayong industrial complex, chairman Zhou Yucheng said yesterday.

The four Thai factories are expected to generate combined revenues of $100 million this year, 80 percent from exports, he said. Worldwide sales for the Chinese state enterprise are projected at $4.5 ...
