Oct. 1--The owners of the popular Anna's Cafe' restaurant chain hope to open 150 franchises abroad over the next three years.
"We want to introduce to the world authentic Thai cuisine," said Sinchai Chaisidhivet, general manager of Anna's Cafe' Co. "It's rather distressing to hear that tom yam kung is a symbol of Thai food. Thai dishes are much more sophisticated than just a simple spicy soup with shrimp."
With technical support from Sunbelt Asia Co, an international business broker, Mr Sinchai hopes to sell franchises with 10-year contracts to partners for initial fees of $40,000 to $100,000.
