Oct. 1--Asia is the world's fastest-growing market for the direct-sales business, driven by the region's growing economies and large population.

The worldwide direct-sales market is estimated to be worth US$85 billion, with Asia capturing 40 percent, according to industry experts attending a regional symposium.

Growth is expected to persist at 10 percent per year over the next several years, with particular promise in China and India, relatively new markets offering huge potential due to their populations.
