Official Plays Down Governance Concerns at Thai Asset Management Corporation.
Oct. 4--Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra yesterday played down growing governance concerns at the Thai Asset Management Corporation, saying that questions over restructuring standards stemmed from misunderstandings.
He said questions regarding whether TAMC managing director Somjate Moosirilert had violated restructuring standards possibly pointed to weaknesses in the agency's regulations.
"One side is concentrating on rapid, successful restructuring, which might not be in line with the beliefs of others regarding the regulations," Mr. Thaksin said.
"We may need to adjust the regulations to ensure greater flexibility."
