Oct. 6--Securities charges against former executives of Thai Modern Plastic Industry could be revived, nearly four years after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) first filed a criminal complaint for accounting fraud and falsifying financial statements.
Police investigators and prosecutors declined to file court charges in the case for lack of evidence, and the investigation was closed last November.
But the SEC and other agencies are now reopening the case, even though one of the key defendants, former Thai Modern Plastic shareholder Chit-aram Panyamanichote, has since died.
