Nov. 5--The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has signed an agreement with the national tourism boards of Laos, Cambodia and Burma to jointly promote tourism in overseas market.
It is the first time that the four countries have agreed to jointly promote tourism as a group. Before, these types of arrangements had been made on a bilateral basis.
According to Phornsiri Manoharn, the TAT deputy governor for marketing, the first project under the pact is to market a package trip called Pilgrim Tour, which includes visits to ancient cities and temples in the four countries.
