Thailand Customs Agrees to Fewer Tax Inspections in Industrial Zones.

Nov. 5--The Customs Department and the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand yesterday signed an agreement to reduce tax inspection procedures for companies located in industrial estates.
Chavalit Sethameteekul, the Customs director-general, said the agreement would help facilitate imports and exports for firms operating in industrial estates, part of a broader government programme to strengthen the country's competitiveness in global markets.
Inspection procedures for incoming goods will be reduced by 80 percent. Inspections of outgoing shipments through shipping containers will also be waived, as will controls ...
