Nov. 4--The Tourism Authority of Thailand is studying plans to develop Asia's largest saline spa in the southern province of Krabi at an estimated investment of more than 400 million baht.
According to Vanprapa Suksomboon, head of the TAT's Krabi tourism centre, a preliminary study found that a saline hot spring and hot waterfall just outside Khlong Thom district, about 65 kilometres from the city of Krabi on the west coast, would be ideal for the project.
Fed by thermal water from subterranean streams, the springs, at temperatures of 38-40 C, offer ideal conditions for hydrotherapy baths.
