Nov. 4--Sales of motorcycles grew at sharply lower levels in the third quarter compared with the previous two quarters due mainly to seasonal factors, industry figures show.
But according to AP Honda Co, the dominant player in the market, the sales target for the industry of 1.8 million units will be reached. As of Sept 30, a total of 1.3 million units had been sold, up 41 percent from the same period last year.
Sales in the third quarter grew only 16 percent to 405,805 units from 349,277 in the same period last year. This level was also far below the growth rates seen in the first and second quarters of 58 percent ...
