Nov. 3--Visa International aims to promote greater use of spending through debit cards in Asia where credit cards are currently the preferred method.
Rupert Keeley, president and chief executive of Visa International's Asia-Pacific region, said the firm would introduce a new debit product which would carry the Visa name in the not-too-distant future.
The use of debit cards in the US and UK is much more prevalent than in Asia.
