Nov. 3--Krung Thai Bank is negotiating with CP 7-Eleven about a potential partnership deal as a back-up plan in case the bank's attempts to join up with Thailand Post falls through.

Gen Mongkol Ampornpisit, the KTB chairman, said the CP 7-Eleven deal would further the bank's positioning as a "convenience bank".

KTB is now in talks with the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Ministry to take a shareholding in Thailand Post, the agency responsible for postal services nationwide.

Gen Mongkol said the deal would give KTB the opportunity to expand payments and services through Thailand Post's 1,000-plus ...
