Thailand's EGV Entertainment Lifts Curtain on 'Metropolis' Cineplex.

Nov. 6--EGV Entertainment Plc yesterday opened what it claims to be Thailand's largest cineplex in terms of the number of screens in one location in Bangkok's Ratchaprasong area, as it is gearing up to compete head-on with Major Cineplex Plc.

"With 17 cinemas and 2,220 seats altogether, EGV Metropolis is now the largest cinema complex in Bangkok and also in Thailand," said EGV's president and CEO, Wichai Poolworaluk.

EGV has spent 700 million baht building the EGV Metropolis and Mr Wichai expects the cineplex to break even in three and a half years.

EGV previously had 10 cineplexes with 85 screens and 19,006 ...
