Nov. 6--The Administrative Court yesterday ruled in favour of a petition by Rerngchai Marakanond to scrap a civil suit holding the former central bank governor responsible for damages of 186 billion baht arising from losses incurred by the defence of the baht against speculators in 1997.
Mr Rerngchai had filed suit against the Exchange Equalisation Fund (EEF), the fund manager and M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakula, the current governor of the Bank of Thailand.
